Explore the Feast of the Ascension

Between the great feast of Easter and Pentecost, the Birthday of the Church, which ends the Easter season, falls the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord. This day does not get as much attention. Here is a great article to help you explore the meaning of the Ascension with your grade school age children.
Where do the Saints Come From?

Throughout the centuries, the Church has named saints from countries around the world. Here is a fun, interactive map that helps you to see which saints are from what regions of the world. Hover over the pin to open a link to a list for each region.

Good Shepherd Sunday

May 12 is Good Shepherd Sunday. Each year, during the Easter season, we hear a story about Jesus being the Shepherd who loves and takes care of us. To remind us of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, try this fun craft with your young children.

Make Pentecost Fire Sticks!

Our Church celebrates Pentecost on the weekend of June 9. In the first reading, which is from the Acts of the Apostles and tells the story of what happened on Pentecost, we hear that the Holy Spirit came to the disciples in the form of wind and fire. Here is a great craft to do together, where you can capture the images of both wind and fire as you celebrate Pentecost as a household.
